JCC Global Newsletter | December, 2017
Fifty-Three Jewish Community Centers from 15 countries came together for JCC’s Global Amitim2.0– Fellows- A Global Leadership Network World Conference that took place in New York, November 5-9.
The Amitim 2.0-Fellows is a three-year Global Leadership Network program that brings Jewish Peoplehood concepts and programs to the next generation of JCCs worldwide and expands the global network of Jewish leaders and JCCs.
During the conference, participants grappled with the concepts of global Jewry, they participated in workshops that allowed them to network with the different communities’ representatives, they visited cutting edge social initiatives in New York in four professional tracks. They also met numerous Jewish organizations that offer global programs and eventually engaged in an intense networking process in order to find global partners.
The highlight of the conference was a festive evening at UJA Federation of New York celebrating 40 years to the inception of JCC Global and honoring Linda and Jerry Spitzer, long time dedicated leaders, visionaries and supports of JCC Global.
“It’s an almost too-perfect, real life metaphor for the events taking place just inside the hotel’s Grand Ballroom: four days of bridge building between Jewish Community Centers from Mumbai to Memphis and all points in between.”
A quote taken from an article published in the Times of Israel, covering the world conference.
