Igor Oleksandovitch Ratushny was born on February 17, 1960 in Khmelnitsky, Ukraine. He studied at the Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade. In 2000, he graduated from the St. Petersburg Institute of Social and Community Workers and earned a second degree in social work. He is also the recipient of a number of awards and distinctions in the field of social work. His career started as the deputy director and then director of Khmelnitsky food plant “Ukraine”. In turn he was the director of the Association for foreign tourism. He is currently the director of Khmelnytsky Charitable Foundation “Hesed Besht”. Its social activities are aimed at children from low-income families, different ethnic communities and religious faiths in order to promote socio –economic and cultural development.
