Born and raised in Istanbul, Deniz served the Jewish community of Turkey for nearly two decades. Beginning as a volunteer, she became Director of Press and Public Affairs in 2001, and has been serving as the community’s Executive Director and Counselor to the Turkish Chief Rabbi since 2010. In her current role, she oversees all public relations, interfaces with media outlets, monitors anti-Semitism, and represents the community at assorted academic and political events both locally and internationally. She speaks Turkish, German, English, French, and Spanish. She currently resides in Istanbul with her husband and four children.
