Elina Kornyeva

Mrs. Elina Kornyeva has been working in the Jewish Cultural Center Beit Grand in Odessa as a director since February, 2011. But, her cultural career started many years before she came to Beit Grand JCC.
Elina graduated the #1 School of Arts in Odessa in 1995, with honors in piano and vocal. During her academic studies at the Odessa State University, she started her cultural activities in the Jewish community of Odessa. She started working at the Jewish Agency for Israel camps as a madricha and in addition, she managed to become one of the leaders in the Jewish organization “Beitar”, where she was great coping with the role of “Beitar” FSU secretary as well as an editor of the newspaper “Igeret”. In 1997, Mrs. Elina Kornyeva became an employee of the Israeli Cultural Center under the Embassy of the State of Israel in the role of project coordinator.
Elina installed six commemorative plaques to the leaders of Odessa and Israel – Shimon Dubnov, Lev Pinsker, Chaim Nachman Bialek, Ahat Hayam, ORT School and Meir Dizengoff. Who are individuals who have entered the history of the Jewish people.
Remaining a great friend of Israeli Cultural Center, Mrs. Elina Kornyeva became director of Jewish Cultural Center “Beit Grand”. During her professional activity in Beit Grand JCC, she and her team have already organized 4 International Festivals of Kleizmer music, huge cultural events, many of which were organized and held in cooperation with all the Jewish structures of Odessa.
In addition to all, Elina initiates participation in all the city festivals and exhibitions, organizes memorable ceremonies and different types of cultural programs dedicated to all the holidays of the Jewish calendar. During her tenure, 7 plays were staged at Beit Grand on Odessa-Jewish theme, consequently the concert hall of Beit Grand JCC received the undeclared name of “Jewish Theater on Nezhinskaya”, which has a full repertoire and tours throughout Ukraine and abroad.
