Mrs. Oksana Mantuzova, Teens program and Madrich School, JCC “Beit Graham”/Charity Foundation “Hesed Hana”, Kriviy Rig, Ukraine

Mantuzova Oksana

Oksana was born and raised in Kryviy Rig, Ukraine. She holds two specialist diplomas: one in Industrial and Civil Construction and the other in Mathematical Sciences. In 2011 she married and had a baby boy who would become the youngest volunteer at the JCC.
While at the university, Oksana worked in Ukrainian summer camps for children and in 2009 joined the Krivoy Rog JCC. She had no prior knowledge of her Jewish roots until then. However, as she was getting to know the Jewish culture it fascinated her more and more. Now her greatest ambition is to get children and teenagers to explore and become familiar with the culture of their ancestors.
Oksana was originally involved in the Jewish Community life as a preschool teacher and a resource teacher. Later on, she became the teens’ club coordinator. She is also in charge of The Madrichim School and writing grant applications. She spends a lot of her free time coordinating a volunteer project for elderly people.
In 2015 Oksana took part in the “Project Incubator” program at Paideia, Sweden, where she developed her project management skills. Last year she coordinated a family Jewish summer camp in Ukraine.
Since 2009 Oksana has brought to life a number of Jewish revival projects – among them: educational and arts programs for pre-school and primary school children, “Be Jewish” teens club, and “Shituf Peula” volunteer activities. Her latest project is “Be Jewish Twister” which is already in use in the FSU countries and is about to be presented abroad.
