Naama Katz is the director of the Valley of Springs (Emek Hamaianot) regional council since 2011. In her role, she manages a staff of approximately 100 employees, and manages a budget of 10 million NIS. She is responsible for the overall center; the development and incorporation of Center’s educational-community vision; developing and guiding community building processes; advancing a quality system of leisure activities in the areas of culture, music, dance, sports, and informal education in the Valley of Springs; promoting social entrepreneurship; and developing multi-sector partnerships.
Prior to this role, she was working as the Project director for the Designing Education in the Valley of Springs Regional Council (2010-11), where she oversaw the strategic plan including working with task forces, creating a process involving the both the public and educators, and drafting a strategic document. Concurrently, Naama was a community social worker, and accompanied local community management as well as educational and community activists – in four local communities in the Valley of Springs. Naama worked as the Director of Youth Unit at Gush Etzion Regional Council during 2007-10, and also as the Director of Judean Hills & Jerusalem Education Center, at the Israel Nature & Parks Authority (1998-2006).
Naama holds an MA in Public Policy, a BSW in Social Work and a BSc in Geology, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
