I was born in Haifa in 1957. I spent my childhood in the Scouts Youth Movement and my family went on a two year Shlichut (emissaries) in Zambia, Africa. After serving as an officer in the Paratroopers, I moved to Kibbutz Ketura in the Arava region in southern Israel. I have lived there for 35 years with my wife and three children. I worked in agriculture, education of local youth, and held several public offices. I have a Bachelor’s degree in economics and administration from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and a Master’s degree in education from Tel Aviv University. For the past 15 years, I have been the elected Head of the Hevel Eilot Regional Council.
